Hello,
I'm going to Medan, Indonesia this June for 3 days and 2 nights. I'll be travelling with a friend of mine and I'd love to know if anyone who had been there could help me arrange my quick itinerary. We'll be arriving at the airport at 10 am and our main destination is Lake Toba. Thanks in advance!

If I were you I would spend one night in Medan. On your day of arrival you can head to the palace 'Istana Maimun' and from there it is not far to the main mosque 'Mesjid Raya'. If there is time left you can also head to the central post office where you can also find old city hall and water tower.
Then, the next day I would suggest going to Brastagi. Spend a night there and organize (if you like) a morning hike which starts around 4am so you will be up at the summit by sunrise. There are also several hot water springs but not sure if they have improved or not. The last time I was there I skipped it...
After your climb take a rest, enjoy the fresh air and then grab transportation to Lake Toba.
I hope I've been of some help!
Thank you cocomoco, you helped a lot! Your hiking idea is absolutely brilliant, never thought of it before. Thanks again
