Marriott stay Hua Hin/Pattaya/Phuket
We have a 10-day certificate at any Marriott! Some destinations that have caught our eye are Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket in Thailand, as well as New Delhi or Mumbai in India, and Sydney. Any opinions? We are beginning travelers and haven't done a lot of exotic travel, but are excited to. We have to stay the full 10 nights at one location, so please take that into consideration.

Thank you!

Don't know about the others but the Marriott Resport & Spa in Hua Hin is excellent. Great place. Pattaya has a bit of a bad reputation. The Phuket one I think is also new but will cost you $150 air fare return each to reach, the Hua Hin one has a special $15(yes!) one-way air fare or about $50 for 2 by limo service.

Hi Kristin,

Pattaya - stay away from there unless you're a drunken sailor.

Phuket - Marriott there is brand new and quite nice. Phuket island itself is one of the top resort places in the wolrd. Lots of activity there, diving, fishing snorkeling and there is even a theme park there.

Hua Hin - Resort town for the royal Thais. No tall building(by law) and sort of a sleepy town because the King reside in Hua Hin most of the time. No bars and that kind of stuff and I highly reccomend this little town.

If you have to stay 10 nights at one location - Phuket.

There are quite a large number of bars in Hua Hin but 'not' of the Pattaya or Patong Beach(Phuket) variety, they are quite 'normal' bars but no go-go joints. Great restaurants, couple of good discos, shows and things, so although a very 'docile' place you can still enjoy pleasant evenings. We found it far cheaper than our stays in Phuket or Samui. Agree about Pattaya. Hua also cheap to access as I already mentioned
