We LOVED it! We were there last year. The Hotel is beautiful!!!! The buffet breakfast is great. The service is excellent.

Dont take the Happy Hour cruise, its not worth it, besides you have to take water taxis or the hotel boat shuttle to visit any of Bangkok's tourist attractions so you have plenty of time on the Chao Praya river. The hotel itself is off the beaten path so there is not much to see if you venture on foot. There is a small strip mall in front of the hotel with a couple of restaranuts and tourist stores. We would stay there again.

My trip is in October. Originally I was really excited about staying in the Marriott. I heard all positive things.Last week I decided to stay in the Peninsula for exactly the same price. Even though its also on the other side of the river, its directly across from the Oriental with free shuttles. Im sure they are both good.

We had the dinner buffet outside on the River. This includes entertainment. We highly recommend that. We had room service a few times (we were with a 2 year old). The food was incredible. You almost didnt want to go out. We also had dinner in Trader Vics, although it sounds good, I would pass on that one, it was just okay. And in Thailand thats just not right.

The boat shuttles from the hotel are free for a few stops. If you want to go further hop a public boat for transportation (they cost pennies) or a water taxi. Have fun.
