Traveling to India for two weeks feb 2014
Also planning 5 days in Maldives looking for tips on Maldives which island which resort etc

    There is so much choice. I've been 4 times and stayed at 8 resorts. I'll explain how I go about looking for a resort. First I do some research to see which top resorts are having specials eg book 3 nights get 1 free etc. Then I check whether I need to fly or take a boat. If the latter I try not to book those with long rides as I'm not crazy about speedboats. I usually arrive on an MH flight which gets in late so the first night is spent near the airport. I then take a flight the next morning to a resort for a few nights, fly back and then hop on a speedboat to another for a few nights. Also with plane rides, I don't recommend those with long flights either. These are the resorts I've stayed in Kanuhura (when it was O & O), Taj Exotica, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, Angsana Velavaru (IOVillas), Constance Halaveli, Taj Vivanta, The Beachhouse Iruveli and Gili Lankanfushi. I would not recommend Taj Vivanta if pampering service is what you are after. The Beach House is too far IMHO. My Banyan Tree villa was small so will not go back. Service at Constance, Kanuhura and Gili was amazing. Velavaru's in-ocean villas are so spacious but not of the traditional Maldivian thatch design.
    I don't swim, dive or snorkel much but enjoy watching the fish. Some have more fish than others.
