There is a meeting I should attend next July in Macau. It would not be my choice of time of year to visit in the area, but that's it. I'd be more interested in attending the meeting if I can think of someplace I'd like to vacation for a few days with convenient connections.
As for my Asian travels, I've been to Hong Kong several times, Macau on a day trip, Guilin, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Chiang Mai+hills, and Seoul. I'm a 50-year-old female who enjoys architecture, history, nature, and learning about local cultures.
Where would be a convenient place to connect to or stopover from the US that would be pleasant to visit in July?
Macau + where in July?

There's frequent flights from Taipei to Macau, if you don't want to visit Hong Kong again. Since you've been to so many places already but never Taiwan, maybe - just maybe - you'd like to visit there.
