When we originally started planning for this trip, we had thought to go this summer, but have had to postpone until next year. I have been searching for the website I know I previously viewed of a handicraft place located in Ohara where one could take classes in a variety of old fashioned handicrafts. I recall the one that interested me was using dyes to create t-shirt or tablecloth patterned as traditional kimonos had been dyed. I can't seem to locate the website now, unfortunately lost all my bookmarks when I upgraded to this computer. Another interesting place I have been unable to locate information on in Ohara was I believe a tea room where one rested feet in the hot spa waters while enjoying tea. Probably more interesting for those walking around to the historic temples in winter one would think, but still would love to go armed with a bit of information regarding it.
Thank you!

Galactus on a Kerala trip - Jan 2012

Kind of shocked with all the intrepid travelers here got no answer to this one. Oddly enough, I was researching something completely unrelated, started reading a blog on a Kyoto trip, followed a link to a website on Kyoto, and came across http://www.kyotokyoto.jp/shop/sn001/index.html so if any were curious, that's the place with the foot bath. You can also make pottery there, it seems. It does not appear to be the place with the dye, however. That was a different place with a very limited English website attached to their Japanese site, I believe I recall.
