Kuala Lumpur - Doubletree (Hilton) or Renaissance (Marriott)?

Hello,

Between my bf and me, we have enough Hilton and Marriott points to stay at either the Doubletree or the Renaissance for 2 nights in KL. The Renaissance obviously looks like a much nicer hotel, but we're actually more interested to know which is in the better location.

Btw, when I say "better", I mean easy access to public transportation and tourist spots, nearby eating & shopping, etc. The Doubletree's website says that they offer "Complimentary shuttle bus service to tourist sites and nearby offices". I do not find the same on the Renaissance site.

Opnions?

Thanks,
Judy

Both the Doubletree and the renaissance are located right at the heart of Kuala Lumpur so location doesn't really make much of a difference. In fact both hotels are within walking distance of each other.
What tourist sports are you looking for? A shuttle bus is helpful but the traffic conditions in kl can be a nightmare so I'd recommend using the train or monorail when getting around.

Hello jojo,
Thanks so much for your response. Besides Petronas Towers and Batu Caves, we haven't really looked at what else we want to see or where we want to go. This is why we want a hotel location that would be best placed for public transportation.

Since I hadn't received any responses, we decided to go with the Doubletree since they offer the 'complimentary shuttle bus service'.

I'm a little surprised that you said that the two hotels are within walking distance from each other. On the map, they look like they're quite a distance apart. Maps can be deceiving.

Thanks,
Judy
