Koh Samui or Krabi

I need alittle advice. My friend and I are
heading to Thailand for just over a week in
early March. We are trying to decide between
Ko Samui or Krabi. We are celebrating our 40th birthdays there so we would like somewhere to go and have a drink, however we have no desire to party everynight. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Have not been to Ko Samui, but would recommend Ao Nang, half an hour out of Krabi. Wonderful deserted beaches on the islands off the beach, beautiful sunsets; cheap meals.
Have more recommendations if you are interested.

Thanks Jean
I would love any information that you can share. It becomes overwelming when you start researching all the different areas. Where did you stay on Ao Nang beach and would you reccomend it.
Thanks in advance

Krabi is wonderful. Instead of Ao Nang, go to Railey Beach - you can take a boat from Ao Nang or Krabi town and you will not regret it. Beautiful beach....

Ko Samui is also great but can be overrun with tourists. Head to Koh Tao for peace and quite. 11/2 hrs boat ride from Ko Samui

Have fun

Overrun with tourists is NOT true. You'll love Chaweng Beach on Ko Samui. One the best beaches in Asia and the very best in Thailand. If money is not a problem stay a Chaba Hotel and Resort on Chaweng Beach - US$60 to US$80 a night with USA breakfast buffet. Two pools and the beach....with bar. You'll love it.
