KL for 3 days

Hi all!

I am living in Japan at the moment teaching English and am heading back home to Scotland in early September this year, but am planning a stop-off in Kuala Lumpur for 3 full days and 2 nights.

I will be traveling alone, and on a bit of a budget, so will probably stay in some cheaper hotels etc. This will be my first trip to Malaysia, so any advice re cheap hotels, interesting sights, good tour groups etc would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers!

I top a thread by some cool dude a few years back, most of the information are still valid. Or you can do a search by typing "KL"

For accommodation, try: www.asiahotels.com.

Enjoy Malaysia.

Thanks for that!

Any advice for a 24 year old female traveling alone, or is KL a fairly safe place to be?

Cheers!

KL is safe, as far as I know, for a woman traveling alone. I, a woman traveling alone, was there last November and had no difficulty. My only advice is to stay clear of the guest house named AttapSana. As I have written elsewhere in this forum within the last week, it was the worst dump I ever was in. KL is a huge city and, from my limited knowledge, I would recommend staying not too far from the Petronas Towers (there are two floors of food courts in one of them), which is "downtown." KL has a city train and a bus system. It is a nice place to visit. ZZ

what's your hotel budget like?
perhaps you can find some deals from www.asiatravelmart.com

i'm based in KL so perhaps i can offer some views on the "desirability" of the hotels that you've shortlisted

KL is fairly easy to navigate... for city centre area you can take the LRT (light rail transit). For places further away, catch a taxi.
