Khoa Sok National Park in April?
I am traveling to Thailand in April and would love to spend a few days in Khoa Sok National Park! I was wondering if the weather in the park during early to mid April would provide good conditions for hiking, swimming, and elephant trekking? I know it will most likely be very hot but I am really hoping to avoid the rain...
I will be landing at the airport in Phuket from Bangkok and was wondering what my best from of transportation would be getting from Phuket airport to Khoa Sok? Also, any recommendations on where to stay or a tour guide for elephant trekking? Thanks!

We were there in March and it was hot. In April is will likely be even hotter and more humid. You will probably get rain/thunderstorms in the afternoons but in these days of climate change, no one can predict with any degree of certainty.
As for where to stay, there are a lot of options. I can only advise you not to choose the place we stayed Baan Khao Sok Resort as we did not have a great experience. We returned from a trip to Cheow Lan Lake only to find that they had left all of the doors on our cabin wide open after cleaning and had lit a bonfire right next to the cabin, filling the place with smoke!
If you like elephants and value their welfare then do not ride on one - they simply were not designed for that. This place seems to have the correct approach and is well regarded http://www.elephanthills.com . It is expensive though.
I recommend a trip to Cheow Lan Lake. You can rent a long tail for a trip on the lake - lasts 2-4 hours. There are also some floating raft houses where you can stay overnight on the lake - basic accommodation and no aircon.
We rented a car from Phuket airport for the week were were in Khao Lak and Khao Sok which provided a huge amount of flexibility- there is a lot to see in the area.

Like Crellston mentions, hiring a car will give you a lot of options. Public transport up the Andaman Coast is mainly by bus, and the drivers like to put their foot down, so unless buses are your thing I'd avoid them.
From Phuket Airport it's not far north before you get off Phuket Island, and onto Highway 4, which runs more or less parallel with the Andaman Sea. The road is wide, in good condition, and traffic easily manageable. But you still have to expect the unexpected.
There's plenty of accommodation options all along the way.
