am suggesting you munnar....In munnar has a rainy season from June through august , and a super busy high season of April through may, so is best in April/May or September/January .The weather will be just right with cool breeze and not at all humid. Nights too will be pleasant.
Plan to see sightseeing for how many days?. If not in a hurry, just enjoy hills for 3days..

Well, Alleppey and Periyar both are equally scenic. If you love backwaters, then go to Alleppey and if you want to experience wildlife, then you must go to Periyar.

Experiencing the Backwaters is a sure thing, whereas seeing wildlife can be hit or miss. I enjoyed the Backwaters very much and preferred it to the park.

Both the places are beautiful in their league as they represent different beauties of nature. However in terms of experience, Alleppey has an edge as you wont such kind of geographical condition anywhere else.

Alleppey and Periyar both are good places..

Alleppey for backwaters and Periyar is for wildlife and forest

Both give adventurous trip.

But, Alleppey cruise is just phenomenal and can not be seen anyway else.

First of all the state in which both these beautiful cities are situated is itself a well-known and much appreciated state called Kerala, situated on Malabar Coast and is known as Gods own Country because the place is beautiful and rich in its own. And choosing between its part or locality is little bit different for me as whole of the state is very unique in its own sense. But you do have a question regarding the most scenic place either Alleppey or Periyar than I would definitely try to answer that. Alleppey because of its location all along the Arabian Sea is the eminent tourist destination. The city once claimed by one of the Governor General of India Lord Curzon as the Venice of the East. The city is the home of various unique Cuisines and beautiful and picturesque landscapes, the backwater and the houseboats all combined to form a nice place to visit. The temples the churches and the most famous beach of Alleppey are of great attraction.
But talking about Periyar named after Perrinial River flows through the region is the longest river and serves maximum purpose in the region. It is very beneficial for the economy of the state. The Cardamom Hills and Munnar both serves greatly in grabbing visitors who like to walk through the nature. The scenic beauty of Munnar where you can find every possible shades of green is just an out of the world experience. So if you are looking for panoramic and natural view than my suggestions would be Periyar and if you planning to have historic and cultural visit than Alleppey is your destination.
