Kanazawa ryokan or machiya help

We are traveling to Kanazawa in October and would like to stay in a nice ryokan or machiya for 2 nights. Does anybody have any recommendations?

We are staying at Kikunoya, a machiya in Kanazawa in October. This was recommended by Kimjapan on this forum and if she sees this, she'll provide more details. We are also staying at a ryokan, about 1/2 hour by train outside of Kanazawa - Beniya Mukayu. Do a search and some info should come up. Kim can tell you more about it also.

Kathie - Bob, Karen, Peter, Linda, Jeane and I have hired a geisha through Kim and she is performing at Kikunoya for us. We will try not to trash the place too much that night. Hopefully it will be livable when you arrive...

Thanks for the info. Is Kim a travel agent? And was she able to get better rates for Kikunoya than the ones listed on their website?

Yes, and most likely yes. I'll shoot her an e-mail so that she is aware of your interest. She is based in Kanazawa.
