Amazing journey! Your logical answers to some of the challenges of Burma are appreciated . I've wondered what else is available besides deep fried foods ... afraid of the heart burn that follows repeated greasy meals. Asking for Shan cuisine is a good tip.
Enjoyed reading about your choices for less popular modes of transport for this ambitious itinerary. "Getting there" can be a most memorable part of a trip, if not always the most "enjoyable". I bet your kids won't forget that long loud boat trip.
Loved your report. We are leaving in five weeks (from Vancouver Island) and looking forward to it. Only going for 18 days however, you had a great long trip there. We are also staying at the Bagan Princess and using Minthu so glad to hear you liked both.
Great to hear about the good resteraunts too will definately look those us.
I spent a couple of hours resding your blog. It is very well written and filled with really great information. Thanks for posting.
