JR Pass needed for Tokyo/Kyoto with day trips?

JR Pass needed for Tokyo/Kyoto with day trips?
I'm in the midst of doing the math on this, and I'm nearly positive I don't need the JR pass, but wanted to check with the regulars here. here's the schedule:
-taking the airport bus from Narita to Cerulean hotel.
-in tokyo for a few days
-day trip to nikko
-1 night trip to hakone
-a few days in kyoto
-daytrip to nara
-1 night trip to Mt Koya
-2 night back in tokyo, then headed back to Narita
I'm not seeing any high-price tickets that would equal getting the JR Pass, but perhaps I'm missing something?

Did you perform your calculation using the Hyperdia website? If so, you are probably correct. JR Passes are rarely worth it, unless you are moving around very rapidly. I have never found JR passes to be worth the money.
However, should you ever return to Japan, there are some regional passes that are a good deal. I was in the West coast region of Honshu last year, and they offered an unlimited five day pass. It was a good deal, since I wanted to hop on and off the train to sight see each day. I didn't end of buying it, however, since it was only offered for sale in Osaka, and I was transiting through there with only seven minutes.

@californialady: Yes, I did use hyperdia. Funny- I've heard the opposite as well- hence me putting it out there for others who may know a bit more. I'm seeing my total getting to around 40,000 yen (not including any tokyo/kyoto subway rides), with about half of those being JR trains. Doesn't seem worth it considering the JR pass is about 46,000 for a 2 weeks pass.

Landing in Narita (but taking bus to Tokyo)
Tokyo, with day trip to Nikko (5 nights).
Tokyo to Hakone (1 night)
Hakone to Kyoto, with day trip to Nara (4 nights)
Kyoto to Mt Koya (1 night)
Mt Koya to Osaka to Tokyo (2 nights in Tokyo)
Tokyo to Narita.
Yes, I could potentially do that, instead of getting the 14 day pass-
