Joining 1/2 day or full-day group tours once in thailand?

Jump to last reply

I am a woman in my 40's thinking of traveling solo to Thailand. I'd want to do some group tours in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, however, to have the benefit of easy transportation and a tour guide built in. How easy is it to arrange this? When I traveled to Bali a few years ago, I found that such group tours were not really available (maybe because I was in Sanur, which is less touristy), and I ended up arranging for a private car and driver. Also, what is the best way to do it---through the hotel or by calling up the tour companies directly? Thanks for your input!
