I am booked a trip to Beijing in March at an incredible rate but don't know much about the hotel. Has anyone stayed at the Jinglun Hotel. I am interested in information about it's accessiblity.

Trip Ideas
we stayed there about 3 or 4 years ago for a week as part of a pacific delight tour....the hotel was just fine...it was comfortable...i would rate it as a solid 3 star hotel....the beds were decent (twin) and the meals were ok....it is almost next door to a large mall/hotel development which was very nice...silk alley is just up the street as is the former friendship store, which was the only place for foreigners to shop before privatization....there is a starbucks up the road as well....its a good neighborhood...wide street in front with taxis etc...
the forbidden city is on this road as is tenniman square (spelled incorrectly)
it is an older hotel but perfect for touring....we arranged for a car to take us to the summer palace at the front desk and it was very good....the front desk gave us gifts when we left...overall it was a very pleasant experience....you will be happy with it....its not the ritz however...bathroom was fine....i forgot to mention
Just to put some perspective... The silk market was demolished in December and Tian AN Men Square and Forbidden City are a 15 minute taxi drive on that road. Jing Lun is on Jianguomen WAI (wai meaning outside, in this case, outside the 2nd ring road) and FC and T Square are on Jianguomen Nei ( nei meaning inside, the 2nd ring road)Jiangumen Nei is also referred to more commonly ar Chang An Da Jie.
Jinglun is right near the China World, if that helps. It is also one of the few hotels whose name in Chinese and English is the same, so that helps alot when giving taxi drivers directions. (Jing lun fandian.)
And if by great rate, you mean less than $70, OK, go for it. If more than $70, you are overpaying for that grade hotel.
Starbucks and Mc Donalds are right nearby, but my guess is that's not what you are coming for. Friendship Store is still standing as of today, but I wouldn't waste any time there.
we actually found several things in the friendship store...one of which was very reasonable yard goods--cloth
