I am attending a wedding in late May in Malaysia and thinking of a side trip to Laos (Vientiane and Luan Prabang). According to the guidebooks, May is the start of raining season in Laos, so how bad the weather is going to be? I have been to a few South East Asian countries where the rain usually comes in heavy downpour and doesn't last more a hour. Everything is fresh and transculent after the rain, the temperature cools down a bit too. Is Laos raining season the same too?
Is May really a bad time to visit Laos?

The wet season does not really start until the end of May. It will be pretty hot though.
Thanks, Vientianeboy. I am planning to visit from 22nd to 27th May, guess I will hit the start of the wet season. But can anyone tell me just bad can it get? So that I can prepare for it psychologically.
