Hello trusty Fodorites,
I just booked my flight to Bali ( LAX-Bali Cathay pacific using AA miles!) I also secured a private villa in Ubud for 7 nights. I know I have bored many of you with my beach portion questions...but: I have 5 remaining nights. Should I spend all 5 nights in Lombok (Qunci Pool Villas)...or 3 nights in Lombok and 2 nights in Sanur ( Tandjung Sari.)
My gut instinct is to stay put in one place and chill out....but on second thought I do get bored real easy. Not sure what to do.
Also: Which room is prime at Qunci Pool Villas ( would like second floor and ocean view) Our trip is next September...Any help is very much appreciated as always!
Smiles,
Kirsten
Is 5 nights in Lombok too much? Which room at Quinci Pool Villas!

Room #8 at Quinci Villas (the original property) is the best IMO. It is the room that fronts the beach and has a balcony. It is the closest to the water, all other are set back some, or have no sea view. The balcony is large with a day bed and table and chair...I lived there. When you get bored walk across the road and visit the village that is due east. If you are really bored, ask the hotel to get you a driver and spend 1/2 a day visiting central Lombok and the south coast. You might find my report on Lombok helpful, check under my name.
While I like Tandjung Sari, I think Quinci Villas is a more local experience. I figure I can see Western tourist on the beach many places and don't need to go to Bali for that.
there is not really a great deal to do in lombok, although by hiring a driver you can create things...
we had room #5 which is back from the beach, upstairs for better viewing, and looks across the pool and through the palms...
if #8 is the one i think, it is fantastic...
i would love to spend 5 days there.... we spent 4 and it was perfect...
Hi!
Thanks for your replies. We are in Ubud for 8 days prior to going to Lombok. I figured Ubud will be our "activity" portion of the trip. A relaxing stay at Qunci Villas sounds great!!! Qunci it is! I think I would like to stay at the new Pool villas. Does anyone know which villa would be best for ocean view and second floor ? ( not looking for one of the private pool villas, but the ones for $115 per night.) As always any help would be appreciated.
Kirsten
Hi!
I just booked 5 nights at Qunci Pool Villas. I contacted the owner ( Scott) directly for advise on the best room. #23 it is!!! I am so excited!
I am now thinking about transportation to Lombok and back to Bali. My Bali-Hong Kong flight leaves at 4pm. So...should I take a boat from Lombok back to Bali or should I fly ( Garuda flies only in the evening and I am not interested in losing a day) Any advise?
i flew and i had qunci book my tickets for me as i had difficulty trying to do it myself on the internet... i just paid them after i arrived....
the food a qunci is very good btw...
