I stayed in a budget hotel managed by a Japanese madam (found from Internet) and thru their agency a guide/porter in early OCT 1999. This guide with little experience, non-proficiency in English, always push me to stay in village house where he can get commission (even stop trekking in noon time to stay in contracted house and even advised me to eat the cheaper food.
I advised that people who want to hire guide should conduct an interview with the guide to see his experience, English standard and have pre-planned routing before employing the guide.
