Internet Cafes for Photo Uploads?

I am planning a 4 month trip through India, Feb. to June '07. I don't have a solid itinerary yet but I know I will be starting in Bangalore and ending up in Delhi. I am thinking about purchasing a digi camera before I go and keeping a blog while I travel. The camera would be the only piece of electronics I would have with me and I would count on the ability to plug it into internet cafe computers to upload photos for backup and blog updates for family and friends back home. Is this a realistic scenario?

Don't think you should have a problem finding internet cafe's in India. Like kdi said, there are lots, especially in the cities. They may be more difficult to find in rural areas, and you won't get broadband connections if you do, so best wait till to get to a city and upload your pictures.

I wouldn't bet on getting a very high speed internet connection in India. So uploading a lot of photos might be a pain, unless they're at very low resolutions. You might want to go to a photo shop and have them burn a CD for you.

Go to http://www.cybercafes.com/ for an alphabetical list by city of cybercafés in India. (There are 417) Also, your hotel may have a PC and e-mail access for guest use, it will depend upon what type of hotel or guesthouse you are in. As for high-speed, that again will depend on where you are, and also on the odd electrical black out or load-shedding which can happen fairly regularly unless you are in a hotel or shop which has its own generator. There is high-speed WIRELESS in many 5 star hotels in India so you never know what you will find.

Hi
You certainly can.
Bangalore is one of India's most hi-tech cities.
The biggest IT companies and call centres are based here.
Toured India in Jan 2006 and certainly had no problem as there are many Internet cafe and photo shops.
