India Visa - BLS international. Lost passport FBI complaint

I am reading more and more incidents online where these BLS guys have lost(?? Stolen??) passports of US citizens given to them for visa and other services. lots of complaints online with similar 'lost passport' experience.

We have lost passport(maybe they are stealing and selling US passports). I will be submitting complaints to Police and FBI to investigate.it is worth criminal and civil investigation to see what is going on in there. If you have similar complaints, please be sure to tip FBI and police. More tips better so that investigation can start fast and any wrong doings can be detected.
https://tips.fbi.gov
Send copy email to local FBI field office as well
http://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field/listing_by_state?
and make sure you file lost/stolen passport complaint at local police station. Make sure you mention who lost/stole it(BLS in this case)

Indian embassy- shame on you that you have such crooks and idiots representing you out there....

Same thing happened to me as well. BLS is saying over the phone that they lost my us passport but are not confirming in writing nor they are filing police complaints in NY. if you or any one else has lost their passport during Nov 13th, 2013 or later please contact me so that we can take a collaborative action against BLS.

In my opinion what BLS will do the applicant passport and where Embassy of India is involved in this for granting visa and other services.

There must be some confusion inside the BLS centre due to which passports are lying and system is not updated, and we all thinking that they had lost and steal our passports.

We must go in person to check the passport or email them asking for the update on passports.

Perhaps the mods pulled it as it became testy and there were multiple posts deleted.

I do hope they put it back up as there was a lot of good info for folks to learn from, outside of some of the mudslinging.

I applied for renunciation and visa together and the online status shows that my documents were dispatched a month ago. I am not able to track this on FedEX. Folks at BLS give a different answer each time from "it has been dispatched" to "in final stages of processing".

Hi All,

I am Indian and I am in the same Boat, but from San Francisco, not New York.
I went yesterday 12/5/2013 to pick up my Indian passport and BLS SF told me that passports were stolen and they complained to police but has not provided my any report not letter.

This company is so irresponsible.

Looks like this is a scam happening across US.

will file a report to FBI and local police like mentioned above

Thanks

i have the same experience. the only way to contact them is to go there in person and try to recover your passports. i plan to do that on the 19th.

In same situation ...Applied in BLS NY ,From start, send the application(mid-Oct) and everything went smooth till end except the dispath of Passport..the status on BLs site shows it was dispatched on 13th Nov but did'nt receive till now...Just a week ago (Last week of Dec), got a call from them saying Passport has been LOST(by courier company) and u need to re-apply it but did'nt get anything in written. So now I need to repeat the whole process from scratch...These guys are so unprofessional and irresponsible ..dont know what to do to such people. Really want to sue this company for such..thought of police complaint or FIR but don't know the process.

Think for all the people whose dispatch on Nov 13 , it might be the same case..Don't know what these guys are doing with the pasports(either selling or mis-using it).We need to do something about these people collectively...If any one in same sit(Nov 13th )and got the passport ,please rply.

hi all. I find myself in the same situation today wherein BLS NY has come back (after me repeatedly following up for 4 weeks) saying that passport is lost. The courier company's website clearly states the package as delivered. This looks like a scam given that there are so many such cases. Can we all get together and consider some legal action/ class action suit against BLS? Happy to receive replies and get advise from people in similar situation as me. Thanks!

I am astounded! Half a dozen people all signed up for the same website at roughly the same time for the sole purpose of defending a visa processing service they had no part in choosing. Coincidences like this are certainly few and far between.

Jacob: if you have been following this business here and read the overwhelming number of complaints about BLS do you feel lucky to have been treated so differently?

Jacob, I don't disagree with it. Fortunately or unfortunately, I won't have to deal with BLS.

But I know internet forums fairly well. I know that if a number of supposedly unrelated people all show up at a forum they've never used before, it's usually because it wasn't found by accident. In every case I've seen so far, it's because the company itself is behind all those people materializing out of nowhere. Companies that do things like that don't help their reputation much, in my opinion. Not only that, but I see that in every case, each person I'm referring to has found more than one BLS thread on which to comment... But only BLS threads. Otherwise not one seems to have any interest in this website or talking about travel, the only reason to come to this website.

Not saying that different people can't have had different experiences. But what are the chances of what's happening in this thread, really? That a lot of random people who have nothing to say about travel yet all just happened to be reading here anyway, all at the same time, became concerned about this company they only know by mail? They all just happened to be Googling some visa service they did business sometime in the past, all at the same time? But maybe that's what's happening here and I've underestimated the power of coincidence. Will leave it at that.

I'm off to see if anyone is saying anything bad about a Russian visa service we used in 2007. If I can remember their name.

I agree with what Counterclifton has mentioned above. I personally have had a very bad experience with BLS NY over last 2 months. It was then that I started googling to check if other people have had similar experiences. That is when I came across this forum and saw this thread.
I can only say that I have documented evidence (email exchanges) which proves the sheer negligence of BLS atleast in my case. I am seeking legal recourse on the same to ensure further action happens and the cavalier attitude of BLS team changes for the better.
@john0785 - you are very lucky that you were contacted since you had not sent a prepaid envelope. In my case, the officer mentioned that they just SHREDDED the documents! This is inspite of the fact that all contact details were mentioned on these documents and they could have easily contacted me.
