India Tour Company

Hi folks;
I am planning a trip to India and Sri Lanka in January and am looking for a good travel company to help with arrangements and tours.

I have been looking at a company called " India Experience" and am wondering if any of you have knowledge of this company ?
They seem to operate with a Kerala and Sri Lanka website as well offering tours to these places too.
Also recommended to me was "Tribes" travel of the UK.

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

Christo.

I used Boutique Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and was very pleased with them. I'd use two companies: one for Sri Lanka and one for India so you get companies where that is their speciality.

How much time do you have for your trip?

One thing to consider in choosing an itinerary is to avoid the travel company that tries to do the 15 cities in 7 days kind of tour. You think you're seeing a lot, when in reality you'll see nothing but a quick drive by.

I and many others in the forum have used Yatrik to unanimous positive reviews. http://www.yatrik.com/home.asp Ask for Ajay Sharma. I cannot speak highly enough of this travel company.

Hi Christo,

It depends on your travel interest, go with a specialize company and a recommended company based in India & Sri Lanka. You can read the trip reports and decide. There is no harm sending an enquiry to three or four travel agents or even you can write to some of the Fodor's member who have been recently to India and ask their recommendations.

Cheers...

Thank you all.
I will follow up on these suggestions and may come back with further questions as I develop our itinerary.
At this point for our planned 2.5 months winter getaway we are using Hong Kong as a gateway and hope to add Thailand, Burma and Laos to India, which is the main destination.

Back soon,
Christo.

Thank you ,yes rhkkmk I did see that. I have used Air Asia several times before and probably will this time. Looks like we will need to use BKK to take advantage of their flights.

I have read Atravelynn - trip report, you may send an enquiry to "Wild World India" travel company if you have not done it till now...they are also affiliated by National Geographic and they customizes the tour as per individual preferences. You can have a look www.wildworldindia.com
