It looks like about 7-10 hours on the train. There is a sleeper train at 10 pm that arrives at
5:47 am.
I prefer trains to long car rides, so I'd do that. If you hire a car, you will likely have to pay for both directions.

You could also fly from Delhi to Lucknow (takes about 45 minutes) and then take the train from Lucknow to Bareilly, takes about 4 hours.
