I'm going to South Korea

Jump to last reply

I've been invited, along with a small group of other potters from around the world, to attend and exhibit in an International Ceramic exhibition at the Celadon Festival held in Gangjin in August . We are pretty well looked after there for a week and then we'll be travelling around other parts of South Korea - Ulsan, Gyeongju, Incheon and finally Seoul - to visit potters, kiln, etc.

So while I'll be pretty caught up with this, my better half the Roo basher (or is it Bashee as he's the one that gets bashed) will be looking for interesting things to do. Most particularly for the time we will be around the Gangjin area - which is about 5 hours south of Seoul in South Jeolla Province. I haven't yet be about to find out much about it so any help would be good.

We will visit lots of potters and museums so its other things that might be of interest that I'm after. We have a little time in Seoul before we leave.

At the moment I think we'll go through Bangkok because although its not really the best of routes I need a Bangkok hit each year. (I'm from Australia so its not that out of the way)

Any ideas or hints for South Korea would be most welcome. Thanks already to Indianpearl and Cranachin for a few.
