I need help planning my trip to Asia
Hi there,
My boyfriend and I are going to Asia for 3 1/2 months. We are flying into Beijing at the end of August and flying home in December from Bangkok.
We would like to do and see everything.
I have no idea how to plan, what visas i'll need before i go, what the weather is going to be like, and what medications I should take before I go.
If anyone could help, I would be forever grateful !!!
China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam

First of all, forget the idea of seeing "everything." Not possible. Not possible even if your trip was three years. You've listed 12 countries, do you really think you can see China in a week?
So you need to start by figuring out what in this part of the world attracts you? What are the three things you most want to do/see/experience?
Do you have any guidebooks yet? Start there. You can also read trip reports here, but you need the background a guidebook can provide.
Only once you have decided where you want to go can we help with issues like visas, vaccines, transport and such. People here are very willing to help, but there is some of this YOU must do - no one can decide for you where to go.
Here are some websites that may be helpful:
for weather info: www.weatherbase.com
for travel health info: www.cdc.gov/travel
Get started on figuring out where you want to go and come back and ask questions once you've done your homework.

What Kathie said. My first trip to southeast Asia was three months, and that was just Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, with a small bit of Thailand. You could easily spend half your time just in China (I've done that too). Spend some time with the glossy guidebooks (try your library) and narrow things down a bit.
After you sort out the itinerary you can use cdc.gov for health issues, and the embassy websites for the countries you pick for visa questions.

Hi,
I suggest you to make a choice for countries you both want to explore.
Then narrow down to particular sights of each countries and do some budgeting on accommodation.
Search for visa information. I think Indonesia would require a visa for most foreigners unless they are from South-east countries. You can easily spend 1 month fully in Indonesia as we are the archipelago therefore so many to be seen and done in each islands.
Have a great plan!
*I wish I'd have a 3 months vacation
