I am from dubai and I am planning a trip to Hong kong end of dec/early january. I have never been to that part of the world so I am not sure how to dress. How is there winter? Will I need a jacket?
How will the weather be like in hong kong dec/jan?

Dear Kelda:
The weather in Hong Kong is at its very best at that time of year. Generally sunny and about 21 C/ 75 F. The humidty is very low as well. A perfect time to go. To the locals, this is "winter", so you may see people wearing heavy jackets. The tourists will be in shorts and T-shirts (only a slight exaggeration). Depending on how long you have lived in Dubai, you may find it cool as well. You may want a light jacket or sweater at night, especially if you are crossing the harbour or walking along the quays. Also, many restaurants and shops keep their air conditioning on in teh winter (as few places have central heat) so it may be colder inside than out!
Enjoy the trip!
It's very nice weather in Hong Kong. A very choice. Winter in HK could be sometimes cool as 10 c. But average it's around 15-20C. It's considered a dry season. So bring yourself a medium heavy jacket, say light-medium wool jacket. For local like me, I wear medium wool jacket. But during daytime, it can be a bit warm, so do bring yourself long sleeve cotton sweater, and you'll be fine.
