Hotel recommendation Koh Samui needed - price approx. 2500 to 3000 THB
I am going to Koh Samui 16th August to 25th August 2010 and I would appreciate hotel recommendations from you -
This is what is important to me:
1) Safety: I am traveling alone, so safety is important to me.
2) great beach: I prefer a hotel directly at the beach, but I am also considering a nice hotel further away (if they have free bus transfer - I would maybe rent a bike, but not a car nor motorbike )
3) Fitness in the hotel or close to fitness center
4) Price: my budget is approx 2500 THB to 3000THB - is that possible?
5) nice service, clean rooms, nice breakfast
6) internet would be great, but I can live without
I prefer to be close to either Chaweng or Lamai, as I heard that the beaches are best here. I am not a party person, though, I actually just want to relax at the beach (reload the batteries), snorkle a bit, and I do like to shop. I am 35 yrs old, female.
Does anyone have experiences with these hotels:
first bungalow
Al's laemson Resort
Ark bar beach resort
Hotel Best Western Samui (I know it is pretty far from the beach)
Marina Villa
I am very open for other hotels, I think it is a jungle to find a nice hotel at an ok price. I am also considering to spend a few days on Koh Tao or Koh Pangnan, so any suggestions here are very welcome.
thanks for your help

I don't have specific hotels to recommend, but at this late date you might check www.latestays.com and see if you can get any deals.
