Hotel near Tokyo Station

Hi,

Can anyone recommend hotels near Tokyo station? After spending 4 days in Tokyo at the beginning of our trip we will be returning from Kyoto and spending our last night in Tokyo as well. We'd like to stay somewhere near the station as we will only be in Tokyo for a short time (arriving by train around 7 pm and departing the following afternoon for our 5 pm flight). Price under $200/night would be ideal.

Thanks!

I suggest staying in Shinagawa. There are several hotels near that station which is a shinkansen stop. Take an airport bus from the hotel or use the Narita Express train from Shinagawa station.

We booked 1 night at Toyoko Inn Tokyo Shinagawa-eki Takanawa-guchi because we also wanted to be near the station. We haven't been (trip is in Oct), but I believe it's pretty "no frills" yet gets good reviews, is inexpensive and includes breakfast.

I have also stayed more than once in the Shinagawa Toyoko Inn for convenience to the Shinagawa Station - it is perfectly adequate although the neighborhood is not very exciting....

There is a hotel at the station but I suspect it is expensive, probably close to $400 a night unless you get a promo.
