I'm traveling to HK for ten days in July with my four young kids. I've been looking into hotels. I need to be near the Shangri la as that is where my husband does a lot of his business while there. We got great rates at the royal garden but have heard there is construction. Has anyone been there during the construction that can tell me what that's like? We need two rooms or some type of suite that can fit us. As for what we are looking for- we'd like something luxurious at a reasonable price

Don't know what's going on inside the Royal Garden, but it is generally a decent hotel. Other good hotels within short walking distances of the Kowloon Shang include the Regal Kowloon, Intercontinental Grand Stanford, the Sheraton, the Panorama by Rhombus and the new Hyatt.
Tsim Sha Tsui isn't that big, and in fact almost all hotels there are within "walking distance", though I'd call only the above ones within "short walking distance".
Most hotels in HK offer some kind of suites, though you may still need to have 2 rooms/suites with 5-6 people.
