Hong Air vs China Eastern?
I also posted this on the Air Travel Forum.
I want to fly from Honh Kong to Shanghai and these two airlines seem to be offering the best times and prices. I have read the reviews but wonder if anyone has had experience with Hong Kong Airlines. Their prices are much lower and I wonder about safety after reading reviews.
I have flown China Eastern around China and it was fine. Thanks for any input you can share with me.

Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Expresses are subsidiaries of China's Hainan Airlines.
Delays for HKG-China flights are legendary and affect all airlines. To me, it's either fly CX/KA or fly whoever is cheapest.

Right now prices are a super saver on Hong Kong Air is USD $70., China Eastern 168. And Cathay Pacific/Dragonair $350. I worry that Hong Kong Air is a poor choice due tomdelays and safery. Howecer, you say they all are delayed on this route?

Most HK-China routes can expect delays, especially HKG-Shanghai. Due to airspace restriction by the Chinese authority. Your best bet is to pick the earliest flight of the day. Once you get into the afternoon and early evening, pray.
As for the price, I wouldn't pay more than double to fly MU.
