Honeymoon in december 2014
Hi,
Am Planning my honeymoon from 18th December 2014 to Thailand. How many days should be enough? and which places should i cover in that time? Below are things i am looking for:
1. No monsoon.
2. Romantic beach like koh samui, krabi.
3. Little bit of nightlife, food.
4. Adventures like snorkeling and sightseeing.
5. Five star resorts.
I want atleast 10-12 days of vacation, which includes relaxation and full moon party and nightlife.
Am confused reading so many forums. Please help!t
Also, i really wanted to go to Bali, but december is monsoon season there. Do you think i can still go on 18th December?

Be aware that you will be traveling at the busiest and most expensive time of the year. The beach hotels will be especially expensive. You want to be on the Andaman Sea side of Thialandd, Phuket, Krabi, Ko Lanta, Ko Lak, etc. And I agree with rhkkmk, spend some quality time in Bangkok as well.
I agree with Prachaup about the full moon party - not good material for a honeymoon.

Mid-December isn't the best time for the beach in Bali. You'll get some rain -- not non-stop, but intermittent on most days -- and may get a few all day cloudy periods and a few of all day sun. Because of the prevailing winds the westcoast beaches get a lot of debris during the rainy season.
Having said that, December and the yearend holidays are one the most popular times to visit Bali, and many people manage to work around the weather.
You could plan to spend some time in the Ubud area (inland). You'll get rain there too but it doesn't affect the experience so much. You could also alternate your pool/beach time with other activities like spas, shopping, restaurants, sightseeing. The 5 star resorts are well equipped to deal with the weather and to offer alternative activities.

As i have been reading and people telling me December is not the best time to go anywhere actually because it is so expensive and crowded.
I am thinking if it is a wise decision to postpone the honeymoon maybe? go in jan or feb?
Just want to be sure that Krabi, koh lanta, koh lak, bangkok are worth going in december?
Thank you for your responses
My first option for honeymoon was europe but since am getting married in december i chose asia thought it would be cheaper and better weather. i hate cold and rains.

I would recommend you choose just one beach, so you don't waste your precious honeymoon time moving from place to place. So either Khao Lak or Krabi would be a good choice. That, with some time in Bangkok would make a lovely honeymoon.
If you can postpone your trip until after the new year, prices will be better. The weather in those beach areas is still great in January-February.

In Bangkok, I suggest you stay along the river. You have lots of hotel choices in this area - the Pen and the Oriental are the most expensive, but there is also the Shangri-La, Sheraton Royal Orchid, Chatrium, etc.

Huahin or Pranburi is perfect for Honeymoons. There's this really private beach getaway called Aleenta Huahin that is romantic and nice but it's not a wild party place. More for relaxing and privacy although they do have some pretty adventurous stuff like paragliding and harley transfers if you're into that sort of thing.
