I will be flying into HGK mid January and need travel advice to Luohu District in Shenzhen. We will be spending the night of arrival at a Central area hotel. I know there are several ways to travel to Shekou port in Shenzhen (which is too far from my final Shenzhen destination), but i need to know how to travel from Central to either the Lo wu border crossing or Huangang border crossing. Thanks for your help !

From Central on Hong Kong Island, you can take the MTR to Kowloon Tong, then switch to the East Rail all the way up to Lowu or the new Lok Ma Chau border crossings.
Lok Ma Chau crosses over to the new Futian border control on the China side, which is connected to the Shenzhen subway line #4 at "Huang Gang". It's also adjacent to the older Huang Gang coach boarder crossing.
