Hey and thanks for your help!
My girlfriend and I are planning 8 nights in Thailand this February and could use some advice on how to divide our time. Although I hear Chang Mai is amazing, I think we are going to focus primarily on the southern islands. The plan is to fly into BKK, spend one night there (and do the Flight of the Gibbon zip line) and then fly to either Phuket or Krabi. Next, spend six nights exploring the islands before going back to BKK for our final night. We are in our mid-20s and are looking to relax by the beach, eat well, party for a night or two, snorkel/scuba, and do whatever else Thailand throws at us.
My main questions are:
1. Where should we stay vs. where should we visit on day trips (Ko Samui, Ko Phi Phi, Ao Nang, Railey)?
2. Should we fly into Phuket, or Krabi?
3. What should we not leave Thailand without doing?
4. Any food/restaurant recommendations? We love to eat and will burn it off running around Thailand...
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Congrats!
give us an idea of your hotel daily budget..
If you want to do the Flight of the Gibbon experience you need to go to Chiang Mai - it's there, not in Bangkok.
1 Koh Samui is on the east side and the others are on the west side. Pick either Koh Samui or one of the other 3.
2. Fly into the airport closest to your destination, right. You'll know which airport to fly to once you decide where to stay. If you pick Koh Samui, neither Phuket nor Krabi is near - fly to Koh Samui or Surat Thani/bus/ferry.
In general, it sounds like a bit more research would be useful for you as you are all over the map with only 8 days. Pick two locations that interest you, keeping in mind that while Tgai beaches are indeed beautiful, Thailand has much to offer beyond the beach.
