We will be visiting Hong Kong in Sept. and looking for moderatly priced hotels. We wil be there approx. 5 nights. The Royal Garden hotel appears to be a good hotel with good reviews and a good location. I would like to hear from Fodorites if they've had any experience there or suggest similiar hotels. Thanks
Has anyone stayed at the Royal Garden Hotel in HK?

Location is so so, and I've not stayed there, but the Royal Garden is the flagship of the 4-property "Royal" chain, which is very run. If the price is good, it's a solid choice. The main issue is that it is a fairly long walk to the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR for the Tsuen Wan Line trains, or the buses on Nathan Road, or the Star Ferry. But you can always just take a taxi to go places.
Yes, long standing first rate hotel. I stayed there 6-7 years ago and 20 years ago and was treated well and rooms were very nice. I would rate it a 4 star+.
I meant to write it's "well run" chain. I have stayed at the Royal View for months, and several friends have stayed at the Royal Plaza.
Thanks, I've been concerned that it's a long walk, I have some difficulty walking distances due to diabetes. Are there any other hotels in that price range but located better? Thanks again for you assistance.
The Royal Garden is a favorite hotel of many tour groups. Although it is a hike from the subway, it is close to a good selection of shops and restaurants in the TST East neighborhood.
Keep in mind that taxis are very inexpensive in Hong Kong -- they can be a good alternative.
