I am considering using Overseas Adventure for a trip next spring to Japan. Has anyone used them for this itinerary? I was originally planning a Tauck tour that travels by small ship, but OAT is far cheaper.
Has anyone gone to Japan with Overseas Adventure?

I'd look into companies that really specialize in Japan. Esprit has some excellent and well priced tours that offer a real cultural experience where you actually meet people.
We very much enjoyed our Japan trip in 2002 with Imaginative Traveller. (You can click on my name to see other comments I made about our trip.) From other research I have done their style of travel is similar to OAT, small groups, local style accomodations and dining, plenty of time for independent exploration, using public transportation, no tour busses, no shopping required. www.imaginative-traveller.com. Enjoy planning your trip!
Laurie ann- I checked the website for Imaginative Treveller but coulen't find any tours. Any other info?
Glorialf - I could not find any info on Esprit. What is their website?
I am really interested in OAT as they have been stongly recommended, but would consider other tour companies.
