Hi travelers,
I will travel to Vietnam next month and I am planning to take a 2 night/3 days tour from Halong Bay - Cat Ba Island. Therefore I have been reading posts and looking at web pages.
I have found a good offer with ODC Travel. This agency is also recommended in my guidebook (Lonelyplanet Guide Book). I tried to check what experiences other travellers have with them but I only found one post here of people who did not like them.
Are there any other opinions? Can anyone who has done the tour with them tell me about the quality of the boat/tour

I and many others on this board have used Tonkin travel which seem to have very reasonable prices, you may want to contact them?
No, absolutely he doesn't want to contact man. Xienz has been touting for ODC on tripadvisor which I'm also a member.

There are many travel agents operating tours to Halong Bay. I also did some tours with ODC Travel. They run a 12-cabin junk in Halong Bay. They also give me a soft price (in the comparison with Handspan and South pacific travel. It was not a new cruise or luxury cruise but clean and nice. I like kayaking in Halong Bay and enjoying the beauty of the bay. the guide and the crew were very nice too.
Besides reading reviews, why don't you get some quotations from some other agents so that you can have a right option. If budget is not your problem, choose the luxury cruises, if not, I think ODC is also a good choice.

I think that each Agent also has strong of each field. Handspan is good for services but hight price, ODC Travel is cheaper but small boat or something.
They only want to invite you to travel to Vietnam. I also took some ODC tours and feel it was funny.
@Xienz: Have you ever gone to Vietnam or you are advertising for ODC Travel?
Why you should try Indochina Sails. ODC Travel is quite good but I feel Indochina Sails is also ok. I have just booked a Halong Bay 3d/2n and felt very good!
Xienz: for the budget junk boat, try Bai Tho junks or Huong Hai junks, their service is so good and the price is not too high. In my opinion, Catba island has nothing to see. Try this link for your reference
