Great Beach for November? Layana? Le Meridian Phuket?

Husband and I are looking for a beach location in mid-November, 3 nights or so. Hoping for something luxurious but also under $300/night. Would really love a great beach (soft clean white sand, swimmable, etc.). Nightlife not important, would prefer something quiet. Have been leaning toward the Layana on Koh Lanta, but have read the beach is not the best. Have read good things about the beach at the Le Meridian in Phuket, but it doesn't seem as special as Layana (plus food and spa seem more expensive there). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Maybe we should just settle on a nice pool rather than beach?

The beach at Le Meridian is fabulous. I found the resort to be very nice as well but it is not ultra deluxe. It is close enough to all the shopping and nightlife of Patong yet far enough away. WE stayed in a standard room that met our needs but the deluxe rooms had amazing sea views. It is proberbly a very good 4 1/2 star resort but the beach location is hard to beat.

Check out Zeavola, Phi Phi Island Village or the Holiday Inn on Phi Phi.

Beaches don't get better than that--and all are very quiet and isolated.

Good luck!
