Golden Triangle in Feb '05 help!

We will be vacationing in India(we are Indians) with our 1 yr and 3 yr old boys in January. The visit is to spend time with family. We will also be making trip to the Golden triangle in mid February. here is our iternary:
Day 1 :
Arrive in Delhi
Stay at Taj Palace.
Day 2 at Taj Palace.
Day 3: Travel to Agra
Stay at Taj View
Day 4:
Travel to Jaipur,
Day 5 Day 6 in Jaipur. We will be here for 3 nights.
We will be staying for 2 nights at JaiMahal and the 3rd night at Rambagh for the experience. However we have only booked a superior room..Would it be worth it to upgrade ??

Also if you guys could give us some tips as to shopping and such that would be very useful. Has anyone had experience with the Surana showroom/jewellers in Jaipur?
Any other suggestions are welcome !

    OK - my comments on your itinerary

    (1) Delhi - presumably you are on a package with Taj group of hotels. However, I would still recommend exploring how much an upgrade to the Taj Mahal hotel in Delhi would cost - it is a far superior hotel and a much better location. In Delhi shop at Cottage Industries, Janpath, Santushti shopping complex opposite Ashoka hotel, FabIndia in Greater Kailash market - pull up some earlier threads where I have given detailed shopping tips for Delhi.

    (2) Are you transferring Delhi-Agra by road or rail? I would reco rail - your boys will enjoy it and the connection is excellent.

    (3) Jaipur - despite the Rambagh experience I am not sure it is worthwile with 2 small children to go thru thr fuss of changing rooms for 1 night. The Jai Mahal is perfectly adequate. Why not just have a nice meal at Rambagh?

    Surana is a great jeweler - locals go there for his specialization in uncut diamond jewelry. Be aware thought that many of his deisgns are somewhat "ethnic" and also that the type of jewelry he makes you pay a great deal for workmanship.
