First Time Solo Trip To Thailand Itinerary

Jump to last reply

I'm new to the forum. A Londoner living in NYC. I love to travel but have mostly travelled with friends and have always wanted to do a trip on my own so I just booked my first solo trip to Thailand (19days) & Tokyo (6days). I'm also using this as a test to see if I want to leave what I'm doing to explore longer term travel (1yr+) so excited to get 2015 going!

After reading through the forum archives & research, I've worked out the below but I would love your expert opinion and recommendations taking into account:

-26 year old single male traveling solo in Thailand for 19 days (Feb 26 to March 16)
-Looking to explore, relax, party, meet great people, adventure.
-Interested in amazing experiences; whether that's places I should go, stay, see or do.
-Planning to mostly stay in hostels so I'll be able to meet other backpackers along the way. Any of your favs or recommended would be great.
-Attending the Full Moon party March 5th.

Not sure of what order to go yet or what to skip, so any recommendations would be appreciated:

(1) Arrive Bangkok (2nights)
(2) Ko Samui OR
Ko Tao (4nights) - not a diver but still looks beautiful
(3) Ko Pha Ngan (4nights - Thur 5th March is Full Moon)

(1) Phi Phi or Krabi (Railay beach)
(2) Khao Sok National Park. Another post recommended to "Spend a night at one of the treehouse-style places near the park entrance and at least one more night at a floating raft house on the huge lake. Spectacular scenery, kayaking, caving, bush walks, nature spotting, etc" - sounds like a must do!
(3) Chaing Mai & Pai (4nights) - after island fun I would love to go north before flying back out of Bangkok.

Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating and really appreciate your help and guidance!
