am travelling to Nepal in October 2007 and am trying to decide between a trek that stops at Thyangboche or the trek to Everest base camp. I want nice views of Everest but am concerned about the altitude at base camp. Anyone have thoughts? Also, looking for trekking company suggestions. I am travelling solo. Thanks!
Everest base camp or Thyangboche

Hello Jen,
If you only walk up to Tenboche you may not able to see the amazing scenery of Mt.Everest,if you go up to Gokyo or Kalapatthar that would be nice and hope you will be able to make the EBC Easily...
We were there 1n 1991 so this may not be accurate but at the time, the conditions were much more rustic after Thyangboche. It was also really cold. We stopped at Thyangboche. I was not cutting a hole in snow to wash my hair.
