Ending another Asia trip in seattle
We met "Kathie from Seattle" and Cheryl for a fabulous NW seafood dinner at Shuckers in the Fairmont Seattle hotel. The hotel is a grand-dame of a hotel and the restaurant is clubby and elegant.
Fodorites, if your ears were burning, it was because we were talking about you.
This tops off our 5 week trip to Japan, a 2 week transpacific cruise, a few days in Vancouver, the Cascade train from Vancouver to Seattle, and bow finally 3 days in Seattle.
Next up Thailand and Vietnam in November.

No mention of politics to keep the evening full of fun...
Our ship, celebrity mellenium (sp), is a bit of a rust bucket
which made the trip less appealing. The 3 port stops were less than ideal, as well.
The crossing was quite smooth, as I guess it can be quite rough. Back to trans-Atlantic in the future, and on Soltice sized ships.

my ears had a sunburned look this weekend and I had wondered why...
Would have loved to be at the Seattle dinner but we weren't invited hahaha. Glad you all had a fun evening.
Did you come away with a different impression of Japan this time peeking into the countryside or same?
Aloha!

Bob- Glad you had a good trip and got to see Kathie and Cheryl.
HT- MY DH wants to return to Japan for a third time. If we were to visit Hokkaido what would you recommend for a 10 day itinerary? I know how to plan Kyushu in 8-10 days, but planning Hokkaido in 10 days is not as easy. We would want to go in Nov.
