I am planning a trip to Japan for Nov. and I'm wondering if I I should book the non stop Dreamliner, or a non Dreamliner flight with a connection, which would take about 8 hours longer than the Dreamliner. Would you trust that the Dreamliner will be flying and safe by Nov.? I know it's just a guess, but what would you do?

trip report to tajmahal agra india

It's too early for the airline to arrange which aircraft will serve a given flight in November.
My guess is that if the Dreamliner isn't deemed safe, tthey'll come up with an alternative.
as you know i have my tickets for oct and i am sticking with them... seems to me something will be found by then...
You can count on 2 things: 1) if the Dreamliner isn't safe, it won't be flying at all and 2) if it isn't flying they will replace it with a plane equally capable of making the nonstop journey.
Base your decision on the shortest and fastest possible route to your destination. Hence, the nonstop flight seems an easy decision.
Update: JAL will resume daily 787 service between Tokyo and Boston on June 1.
That's good to hear since we're booked on it for our Nov. trip.
Yes this is indeed good news.
Aloha!
United Denver-NRT 787 starts June 10.
