Dragon Boat Festival Weekend - Taipei or Penghu?

My husband and I are in Taipei from May 24 to 28 then we were planning to fly to the island of Penghu to stay May 28 to June 1. However, we just realized that the Dragon Boat Festival holiday takes place from May 29-June 1. Should we be staying in the city for the festival or is there festivities also in Penghu?
