I will be arriving in Thailand on the 10th December 2003 and plan to visit various islands and as Im only on a 3 week stay I would prefer to fly.
I have tried to book an internal flight with Thai Air from Bangkok to Phuket on the net from the UK but believe it is not possible as you have to book from country of departure so I think I will have to go through an agent, is this the same for Bangkok Airways as I want to book flights from Phuket-Samui and Samui-Bangkok - I couldnt see anything in the small print to say I couldnt but wanted to make sure.
Unfortunately Thai Air has the best flight time for me (7pm) so will be using them for the Bangkok - Phuket flight does anyone know of a good agent I can use or is it easier/cheaper to book when I arrive in Bangkok.

No problem!
Simply call Thai Airways 9 yellow pages for number ) in London and they will book your flight over the phone, give your credit card number and 48hrs later you get the ticket in the post! Simple, you may no more than any other way. Bangkok Airways do online bookings on their website, however, for all this you might as well pop-into your local High Street travel agents who can issue all you need on the spot, and it won't cost you anything more. If you want to check the flight availability you can call Thai yourself and tell them you will be buying the ticket at your trtavel agent, they give you a booking reference and you walk into your travel agent, easy!
Yep I tried Yellow Pages for Thai Air and they quoted me £85 whereas it is only £35ish on the net which is quite a large difference in price!
The 85 pounds would be a return flight. The current Bangkok-Phuket return is about B 5,400 i.e about 85 pounds, one way is B 2,700.
Doh!!! Thanks for your help!!
The Bankok Airways website is
http://www.bangkokair.com
They have no British office, just one in Frankfurt. But any travel agent 'should' be able to sort or just see how it goes doing an online booking.
