Hello,
I'm thinking of doing the Hakone circuit in late November, and looking at travelling into Odawara and purchasing a Hakone Free Pass (I'll be coming in from Kyoto, and leaving for Tokyo.) Would anyone advise a three day pass? I'm looking at taking the whole circuit leisurely. I read the Hakone thread from December last year, and checked the accommodation options, but I was thinking perhaps staying outside of Hakone Yumoto, perhaps in Gora. Apart from what was in the other thread, has anyone got other suggestions for accommodation? I'll be travelling singly (as per usual), perhaps looking at the last weekend in November to visit.

I don't know if it's a problem but Friday, November 23 is a national holiday in Japan, Labour Thanksgiving Day....don't know if that means it's really crowded there or not....
I was in Tokyo on that day last year and I was shocked by the crowds in Yanaka where I was staying....lol....
Which thread are you referencing? I don't know what to recommend because don't know what was already mentioned.
Yes I would recommend the three day pass but only if you plan to use it for three days
Are you also buying the Shinjuku supplement or using a JR pass to get to Tokyo?
Gora is our favorite spot in the Hakone region but would also stay in Miyanoshita area in a heartbeat if the right place. The last weekend in Nov was when we were there last year and it is a nice time to be there. We had Thanksgiving in Gora.

I plan just to buy a fare from Hakone Yumoto, probably the one way with the Romance Train, just for the experience. No passes, just cold yen
The holiday might be a problem, in terms of booking accommodation. O_O;
