I plan to go to Kazakhstan this summer from Seoul, Korea and can't find air fares on the net. I know Air Kazakhstan flies but their web site does not have fare info. Does anyone know brokers or outfits where we can get some discount fare? Tom

Nice to see Central Asia get a mention for a change.
I'm sorry I can't help with the exact answer to this question, but I can suggest some alternative routes which might be cheaper, or for which you might find it easier to get prices. Air China, for instance can take you from Seoul to Beijing and on to Almaty via Urumqi. Note that if you are looking for prices on Air China's site the company still seems to call Almaty 'Alma Ata'. Often there are low prices for internal flights for those who fly into China with CA. Two other options would possibly be MIAT via Ulaan Baatar (I'm guessing) or Aeroflot via Moscow or Novosibirsk.
Perhaps one reason why the prices to Seoul are not shown with Kazair (or whatever it calls itself now) is that the flights used to be charters not scheduled flights, taking Korean minority people on shopping trips to Seoul, not bringing Korean tourists to Almaty.

Peter,
Thanks for your post. You sure look like the one who knows the area. I will check with Air China, MIAT and Aeroflot. Although I've flown all of them, I did not think of using them to go to Alamty (or Alama Ata). Tom
Check with Asiana, they used to have a weekly flight non-stop from Seoul, or try Uzbekistan Airlines via Tashkent ( fascinating place for a stopover by the way!)
