delhi hotel near airport
We arrive at Delhi International airport late one evening and fly to Jaipur the next day. Any suggestions on where to stay? Looking for a comfortable hotel around US $100 or less. Does it make sense to stay near the airport or to go into town?

I will be staying at the Radisson near the airport for a similar situation.
I understand that it is a good hotel for 100 $ doble room with a bit of noise in the rooms facing the highway.
Hopefully we will be too tired to notice.

The Radisson is a nice hotel about a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. If your flight to Jaipur is in the morning, it would make sense to stay there. Do ask for a room on the interior side, away from the main road which can be noisy.
If you have never been to India before and as you will be arriivng late at night, I would recommend you arrange for a hotel car to meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. There are taxis available, but arriving into Delhi late at night and jet lagged can be disorenting enough, and having to face the onslaught of Indian taxi drivers, porters and beggars could be too much. It is much more comfortable to have a driver waiting at the exit doors to help with your luggage and get you to the hotel as quickly as possible. It costs a little more than a taxi, but is worth it.

We stayed recently at Uppal's Orchid, very near the airport. http://www.uppalsorchidhotel.com/
I don't know the cost as it was part of a package, but it is a fantastic hotel!

We stayed at the Radisson last week. Very close to airport and nice place.
The one poster is correct. As you leave the airport the "porters" and every other type of person will swarm you offering to help. Get transportation set up ahead of time to the hotel.
