Deciding between jaipur oberoi or Taj rambagh palace for 2 nights

Tough decision huh!!! I am staying at mostly oberoi's...is palace experience worth doing? I think the Taj is actually a bit more expensive. Please advise.
These 5 star hotels are very expensive and it seems that booking directly is cheaper than using an agency, although agency say otherwise. Any thoughts?

The Oberoi hotels are lovely but good to stay at at least one of the Taj Palaces, just for the experience. Mix it up.

Stayed at the Rambagh Palace and liked its "in-town" location. Lovely property.

My vote would be for Rambagh Palace!! I am certain either property will give you the 5* experience - Rambagh Palace has a fascinating history.

Be sure to check out the book: "A Princess Remembers: The Memoirs of the Maharani of Jaipur". Fascinating story of Gayatri Devi (the third wife of the last Maharaja of Jaipur) who lived in the Palace. I'd recommend the hotel's champagne tour of the property, too.

Either way - enjoy your trip!

We stayed at the Oberoi and had dinner at the Rambagh Palace. We also came back during the day and toured the grounds. Just my opinion - dinner at the Oberoi was far superior but the Oberoi was worth visiting...

Oberoi usually has specials for multi-night or multi-location packages, with cheaper rates and/or dinners, spa time, air or train transfers, cooking classes, etc., thrown in. I always found them to be a very good deal.

Since you are staying at other Oberois, you might see if staying in Jaipur will make you eligible for one of these. Go onto their web site and look for "special deals" or "packages".

You can always do as Craig did; go tour the palace or have a meal there.

Remind me not to post just after I get out of bed - I meant "the Rambagh was worth visiting"...
