Is there a place (bank preferably) to exchange travelers cheques in the East Railay Beach area? We are staying at the Sunrise Tropical Resort and are being picked up at the Krabi airport by the resort. I heard that you can exchange money at airports, but the fees are high. Thanks for any help you can give us.

In my many years of experience at airport in Thailand, I have never seen excessive fees charged. Unless the exchange windows at Krabi are different, I would expect you to get a good exchange rate there. The exchange windows are usually bank exchanges in Thailand (unlike the exchange windows in most European airports).
Kathie -- Thanks for the information! We'll be in Thailand in one week!
