Loved seeing the Noto Peninsula photos. Also enjoyed the places in Kanazawa we didn't see. I noted that the pine trees at the garden In Kanazawa had not yet been tied up for the coming snows - what a difference a couple of weeks makes! And the couple of weeks made a big difference in the fall colors as well.

Lovely photos! Thanks for sharing.

Loved the photos -- you caught so much of the essence of the place. Lots of great reminders of favorite places, and lots of places I haven't been to yet.

Surprised by what we'd call an "oriental" rug (looked like Persian or Turkish style) instead of tatami in Kanazawa. And the price of the crab -- yikes!

I really enjoyed your photos, Craig. It was nice to see many places we didn't get to and I was really struck by the difference between our experience in Kanazawa, weather wise. Really wonderful photos of the children in Nara and I also really loved your tourist Geisha photos. Really nice set of photos.

Wow. Reminds me of pics you would see from a Rick Steves travel episode. Very nice.

Fab photos Craig. I am hoping to whittle mine down from the 1600 we took between us to about 100! I'll post them later on FB.
Say hi to Jeane .

Great photos. I recognize the red house in the geisha district from our walk there. That house is in a couple of my photos. How many photos did you start with before you narrowed them down to these 145? I have so many photos I may not be done editing them for months.

Wonderful photos! Really enjoyed them!

Thanks, too, for the photos of the "gang"! It's great to be able to put faces to some of the Fodorites.

Craig

I appoint you Lord High Photographer of the forum. One, you edited your photos (I still haven't!) Two, fabulous photos. Beniya Mukayu looks lovely. And thank you for going to Kiyomizudera on a sunny day, so that I have a different impression from our own enjoyable, but definitely damp, visit.

One more thing. I am very grateful for the captions - so many people don't get around to writing them. But one tiny niggle - Your last photo shows "Mount Fuji from the air on our flight from Osaka to Kyoto" - I think you may have meant, Tokyo, not Kyoto?

(Either that, or you had a very short flight!)

Thanks, Sue for catching my mis-caption. It has now been corrected

Shelly, I think we had about 800 photos to sort through. Jeane did not take many on this trip, but it was still quite a project to edit them down...
